Hosting Secret Weapon: Shower Curtains

I know, I know, as a host the last thing you’d probably think to add to your decor list is a shower curtain… But I’m here to tell ya, they can really elevate your gathering game and are a practical purchase. Double win!

First of all, there are some gorgeous shower curtains out there these days. You’ve got ruffled ones, colorful ones, minimalist ones, ones with tassels and even ones with pom poms! There are patterns galore and shower curtains in all different types of material available. But the real reason they are a winner is their durability. Think about it, shower curtains are made to withstand moisture, stains, wear and tear, etc. So they will definitely hold up through the years of gathering (plus most of them are machine washable! Double bonus!).

Now that you’re team shower curtain, here’s how to actually use them! Shower curtains make great tablecloths (this is usually my go-to use for them) and table runners. They can also come in real handy when hosting a picnic or any outdoor gathering, because who wants to ruin a perfectly good blanket! You could also use them as a photo booth backdrop (I mean they already have holes in them so they are a cinch to hang!) or really any visual background needed. They also make great pillow covers (you could easily use them on this no-sew pillow cover technique) and are a very cost effective way to cover a floor pillow without worrying about it getting dirty. You can cut up the shower curtain to make place mats, napkins or even chargers

Honestly the possibilities are endless and are a sure fire way to impress your guests! Places like Anthropologie, Amazon, Urban Outfitters, Society6, Target, Walmart, Marshalls, HomeGoods, World Market, Nordstrom Rack, and even sometimes the Dollar Tree all have great selections! Below are some of my favorite shower curtains that I would absolutely LOVE to use at a gathering.

Gorgeous right? Honestly some of these have even inspired entire themes for several future gatherings of mine! That’s the power of the shower curtain my friends :)
